On our special program Museum Maze® visit the most prominent National Museum which has a remarkable collection of Indian art and sculpture. The National Museum was established in Delhi in the year 1946 by Maurice Gwyer Committee gives beautiful exhibition of Indian Art including paintings, sculptures and bronze figurines. The National Museum was inaugurated in the Rashtrapati Bhawan by R.C. Rajagopalachari, the Governor-General of India. On August 15, 1949, the National Museum, New Delhi, was inaugurated in the Rashtrapati Bhawan by Shri R.C. Rajagopalachari, the Governor-General of India. The foundation of the present building was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India in the year 1955. The museum presently houses approximately 200,000 objects of a diverse nature, both of Indian as well as foreign origin, and its holdings cover a time span of more than five thousand years of Indian cultural heritage.
The Museum has galleries from all the eras to the present, all these galleries have rare artifacts and these have anecdotes that we will share with you. Museum houses artifacts and these artifacts create identity, an identity which shapes a nation together.
